You are looking at the cover of the next Shon Richards book. I smiled so hard at this cover that my face hurts. I sing George Sportelli’s praises a lot but damn, he nailed it. This is exactly the feel I wanted to have. It’s a children book for adults. I’ll be putting the book together soon, reading a test copy and will have it ready for purchase next month. The book will include three brand new Island Princess stories and around 20 activities.
The 30/30 P Thing has been brutal. Writing a new story and then recording it every day has taught me a lot about the process. For one thing, it is really hard to do a sexy voice recording when I am feeling goofy or exhausted. What has been useful is the demands of doing a new story has forced me to use some ideas that have been on the back burner for ages. This kind of rapid publication is turning into an idea factory for stories. I have created three new characters that I really like already.
One thing the 30/30 P Thing has taught me is that I really hard on myself. I was depressed Sunday because I only had two stories in the buffer and I didn’t feel like writing. This blog is my hobby that makes me a tiny amount of money and I am berating myself for a perceived lack of progress. I have done nine stories, recorded them and sent them out to listeners and yet I was depressed because I couldn’t come up with another story on Sunday. Cripes, I have issues.
This Wednesday I will post a story which introduces a kissing cousin of one of my oldest characters. She will be the start of a new group of stories I want to do where I explore pulp style stories of the 30’s and 40’s in a modern context. Quite frankly, you don’t need secret evil organizations of perverts when you have the TSA. I hope you like her.
